We are also excited to have Deputy Head of Ecommerce at leading retailer Schuh discuss how to make a business become ‘mobile first’. With the use of mobile in the world of ecommerce increasing at a significant rate, his presentation couldn’t be more relevant. Sales via smartphones and tablet devices recorded a 55% growth in 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 and that 37% of online sales are made on a mobile device; an estimated 8.9% of total retail sales**. Many large businesses still don’t prioritise the mobile experience for their users despite the numbers and you don’t want to be part of this worrying trend.
As 53% of Schuh’s traffic now comes from mobile, Stuart’s presentation will be discussing how Schuh are beginning to prioritise their biggest traffic segment and how that has filtered into the development of their online experience. He will be providing some broad approaches to working mobile first, followed by some practical examples of how Schuh optimise their mobile experience on the responsive site. Stuart’s talk starts at 3:30pm.
