Affiliate Marketing / Travelcare
Client Information
Travelcare is the UK's largest independent travel provider (*as confirmed by Airtours, First Choice & Thomson), with branches nation-wide and sales in excess of £430m per annum.
As part of the Co-operative Group, which also owns the Co-operative Bank and the Co-operative Insurance Society, Travelcare is backed by major financial strength and has a network of branches throughout the UK. They account for the travel needs of over 1.3 million customers and employ over 2,000 staff.
The Objectives
Take a large but basic brief for a complete set of promotional banners and design an eye-catching and click-enticing affiliate marketing campaign to support the site launch.
The Solution
- in order to give Travelcare some visual standout in the highly competitive online holiday affiliate marketing industry, PRWD recommended the use of a new illustration style to support each of the key messages the banners needed to get across.
- move away from the standard look and feel of most affiliate marketing banners which feature a photo image, a logo and a message (see previous Travelcare banners designed by another agency)
The Method
- illustration concepts were produced initially (see v1, v2 and v3)
- these new, unique illustrations were then incorporated into a series of differently sized affiliate marketing banners, promoting a range of holiday destinations around the world, both for sun, snow and ski holidays.
- the feedback from various key members of the Travelcare team throughout the concepting and banner design process was extremely positive and both PRWD and Travelcare are fully confident that this new style of creative will not only give positive standout in the marketplace but more importantly drive large numbers of web surfers to the new Travelcare website, with a higher than average click-though-rate.
The Result
- a final set of flash, animated and static banners providing a clear visual identity for Travelcare's online marketing campaign
